Signed, Sealed, and Booked!

Brian and I have reserved the venue for our wedding reception.  We have chosen the Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, CT as the location to exchange our vows and house our reception. (The exact address of the venue is 616 Long Hill Rd.)  Please mark your calendars for August 11, 2013!

Brian and I enjoyed the many road trips we went on in search of the perfect venue.  However, it has consumed our weekends for the last few months and we are glad to have made a decision.  We feel as if we made a good choice and we are looking forward to all the fun planning we get to do in order to throw our special party.

Additional information will be forthcoming.  However, here are a few tid bits to help you make your plans:

Middletown is smack dab between Jersey and Boston and is a great location for both families to come together.  The wedding is on a Sunday.  Official festivities at the wedding venue site will begin at approximately 3pm and will wind down between 9:00 and 9:30pm.  (Of course, there will be unofficial festivities to follow!)  We have also chosen the hotel where we will be staying and will most likely be providing transportion for our guests to and from the wedding venue. We have also found an alternate hotel if the first is booked up or if you have pets, and we are in the process of reserving a block of rooms at each and will send additional details soon.

The Inn at Middletown (~$155-$215) – Brian and I will be staying here.  This is also where the “unofficial festivities” post wedding will take place.  This hotel is about 3 miles from the venue and is located on Main Street in Middletown and is within walking distance of many cute restaurants and the town center.   We will definitely have a room block here; we are waiting for the official booking code from the hotel.  This code will get you the rates listed above and will let us know who is staying here.

Passport Inn and Suites (~$75) – This is more of a motel that is .4 miles from the venue but is not really close to much else.  We have not yet visited this place but intend on stopping by in a few weeks.  This motel is pet friendly (and is likely where Taylor will end up staying).  We are not sure if we will be able to reserve a block of rooms here, and the rate listed above is the rate on their website. We’re mainly including it not just for the costs but because it’s actually the closest to the venue, and the Inn at Middletown has told us they will definitely book up (plus the pet-friendliness here).

We encourage you to book your room early (as soon as we have the block code) as the summer, so they say, is a busy time in Middletown! Also, any rooms in the block that are not reserved about 60 days in advance will be released to the general public, and the better rate will no longer apply.

We are so excited and can’t wait to see everyone!
